Accessibility statement
September 2026About this statement
Made for the World Ltd. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience of this website and the websites we build for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
This website’s conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
Made for the World aims for conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA.
We are currently working with Mark Maddison, an accessibility consultant with lived experience of sight loss. The result of this work is to ensure that the latest version of this website has had the following testing and validation:
- an accessibility audit covering every page template
- automated and manual testing
- keyboard and appropriate assistive technology testing

What we’re doing to improve the site’s accessibility
We are carrying out regular accessibility checks, including automated and manual testing. Any issues identified will be logged, prioritised based on user impact, and fixed as part of our ongoing maintenance.
Known accessibility limitations
We are not currently aware of any issues that prevent access to the website’s main content and services. If you encounter a problem, please contact us using the details below. If we identify a limitation, we will describe it here in plain language (for example: “some PDF documents may not be fully accessible”), along with any available workaround and our plan to address it.
How we approach accessibility in our work
Our design frameworks and front-end code are built in accordance with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards and aligned with international legislation including ADA, Section 508, and EN 301549.
Every build includes accessibility as a foundational consideration, with evaluation and assessment combining human review and validation using the WAVE web accessibility tool – the tier selected determining the depth of assessment and compliance assurance provided.
Every build includes:
- Accessible design and component architecture aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA principles
- Semantic HTML structure and keyboard navigation support
- Colour contrast, typography, and focus state implementation
- An alt text framework and image accessibility guidance
Our clients can then choose from three tiers depending on their own requirements and budget:
- Applied: Our team conducts a manual accessibility review of 3–5 core page templates, supported by WAVE tool validation. Issues identified are remediated prior to launch, with findings documented in a summary report.
- Refined: Our team conducts a manual accessibility review across the full site, supported by WAVE tool validation. All issues identified are remediated prior to launch.
- Advanced: Independent evaluation by a specialist accessibility consultant, providing the external human assessment that WCAG 2.2 requires for a verifiable conformance claim. Includes formal assessment, remediation sign-off, and a signed compliance report.
What we’re doing to improve our studio’s approach to accessibility
We are in the process of undergoing Accessibility training to continually improve the way we embed accessibility into our projects.
This training is intended to help us:
- Build accessibility into our existing project process rather than treating it as a final check
- Understand what automated tools can and cannot identify
- Recognise accessibility risks earlier in projects
- Understand the different responsibilities across design, development, content and project management
- Have more informed accessibility conversations with clients
- Recognise when additional specialist testing or advice is required
